Under Construction-Two Bike Trails Under Central Expressway
The paths and retaining walls are coming along nicely. Unfortunately, with all that’s involved with construction along the creeks, the underpasses don’t appear to be very far along. However, I’m sure there’s more finished than what is visible.

Thanks for the report, Richard. I’ve been meaning to get out for a ride and check it out, but just haven’t had the time. Gonna bike commute to work on Tuesday, so hopefully I will get a chance to make a detour.
A buddy of mine and I were riding along various trails to the east of Central the other night and saw some of the work that’s being done. What Richardson is doing is simply inspirational. And riding at night can be sketchy at times but Richardson is not doubt one of the safest communities to ride in at any time.
It’s amazing how different I view Richardson when I’m on my bike. I feel completely safe no matter where I ride – something I didn’t always feel while driving.
When I spoke with Dave Carter from traffic and transportation he noted that he was pleased to see the positive press.
He has been forwarding the links to the appropriate departments so that they know their work is appreciated.
