I work in Afghanistan in a combat zone, My girlfriend lives in Richardson. I ride every chance I have Water view an Meandering way are my main routs I am looking forward to using a lot more of Richardson routs Keep up the good work

Thank you for your enthusiasm and kind words. Please, do get the word out that Richardson loves biking and we’re here to represent you. We think that it’s fantastic that you are putting together group rides, which is exactly the type of stuff we are about. Our main focus is to encourage more people to ride a bike.

Just saw the ‘Bike Friendly Richardson’ at Taco Ocho tonite. I LOVE everything about you guys and making biking a part of everyone’s life/lifestyle. I live in Richardson, near Richardson Bike Mart =), and am part of a Mom’s group in a nearby neighborhood. I have been getting mom’s and our kiddos and families together for all kinds of rides…..trails, cruisers, roadies, everything. I’d love to promo you guys as much as possible, so please let me know what I can do! Thanks for keepn us wheeln! =)

Ian, I love the idea of more group rides. Getting the time and getting organized is the problem. From a personal perspective, I just don't have the bandwidth to pull together a bunch of rides. BFR has always been an open-ended communication source for bikers, and we are always open to helping folks promote their own group rides. In fact, last year's Raffle Ramble and UCAT were inspired and lead by local riders. That's not to say we won't do a few of our own this year as well. Our policy remains, if you have a local group ride that you would like to host, we will promote it for you. Themed rides are always fun. In fact, the Urban Richardson Bike Club, did their own Plaid Ride a little over a year ago. We'd like to work closer with them to promote more of their themed rides. I took a survey on the last BFR, Black Friday Ride and it seemed like most folks weren't interested in a themed ride. Thanks for the input. Richard

I love the site, but I would do have a suggestion to improve it. What about more group rides? Group rides can be used to display new bike lanes or trails. They are also great to bring new riders out. As far as theme is concerned, I know that Denton does the denim ride and Oak Cliff does the tweed ride. What if Richardson did the plaid ride?
