BFR Ride And Seek Photo Scavenger Hunt Raffle WINNERS

Before you scroll to the bottom of this post to see if you won, we would like to thank each and every one of the participants for joining our first Ride and Seek Photo Scavenger Hunt. Because of you, we think this has been one of our most successful events, yet. We hope to continue having these types of events in the future.

We’d also like to thank our sponsors for putting up some great prizes for our event: Richardson Bike Mart, Alamo Drafthouse and DART.

Throughout the month of October, there were over 35 participants, including 12 who completed the entire set. There were over 410 amazing shots taken and who knows how many miles ridden. What amazed us the most, were all of people who did the challenge just so that they can explore Richardson.

As discussed in the rules for the scavenger hunt, each image submission counted as a entry and earned a raffle ticket. If you completed the assigned set of 14, you would earn double points. Each additional image (and there were some great ones), earned a bonus ticket. The more submissions you made, increased your odds of winning.

The range of tickets earned went from 1, all the way up to 53 per person, and the odds of winning were 1 in 600 (approximately). Each ticket drawn was randomly paired with a prize. Scroll down to see the results.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema In Richardson Comes With Cool Bike Parking

The highly anticipated  Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Richardson is finally open for business. Not only has this become one of the hottest destinations in town, it also has an amazing lineup of bike racks that are in the shape of film reels.

Speaking of cool bike parking, the new Whole Foods in Addison has some very impressive bike racks that are in the shape of bicycles. It almost makes up for them leaving Richardson.

Just My Size Bike Rack

I’m glad that both of these businesses care enough about cyclists, and got really creative with their bike parking. This shows that there are some forward-thinking business owners that care about supporting alternate transportation, the local bike culture and a strong community.

I hope that bike parking, like this, continues to be an ongoing trend with new construction around town.

Alamo Drafthouse Richardson: FREE Screening – This Friday

This is amazing! They’re not even open yet, but the folks at Alamo Drafthouse are making Richardson a cool destination. This Friday, November 16th, they are hosting a FREE movie screening.

From their Facebook event page:

Alamo will be screening a 35mm print of the cult classic The Burbs on our 40′ outdoor screen. Festivities start at 5pm with the film rolling at 7pm. Admission is FREE.

By festivities we mean contests, film and brew. As a part of Dallas Beer Week this event will feature an opportunity to meet reps from local craft breweries as Lee Harvey’s Bar pours these local beers at the event’s outdoor bar.

We encourage you to wear your robes and PJ’s so you can take part in the PJ fashion show. We’ll also be having a sardine eating contest and other over the top events!

This event is BYOC. Bring your own chair!

I just got word that folks can bring their bikes into the compound and this is a bike friendly event! We would love to see the Bike Friendly Richardson gang in force (PJ’s optional)! All the developers and city will be attending, and having plenty of riders attend  will punctuate our push to get bike racks/parking in the center.
