DFW Bike Shops Recognized By Size
I stumbled across this while reading the Bike Monkey blog this morning. It was syndicated from the Bicycle Retailer site. Apparently our local bike shops are recognized because we “Build Them Big in Dallas.”
Click here to read about their tour of DFW bike shops (day 1).
Although I love these shops, I’d love to see them do a tour of some of the smaller shops like Villy Customs, Oak Cliff Bicycle Company, Panther City Bicycles, Querencia, The Bike Shop, Transit Bicycle Company, Trinity Bicycles to name a few.
UPDATE: Looks like the visited a few shops in Fort Worth (including Trinity) on day 2. ALSO: here’s another post about other shops in Dallas.
I frequent RBM since it’s so close, but I wish they’d carry a decent supply of commuter gear. 20,000 square feet of carbon fiber and not a decent bicycle mirror, good fenders, or baggy shorts (that don’t look like something Ed Hardy would sell) in the store.
Agreed, but I’m sure the Carbon Fiber and tight shorts are the key to their great success. Perhaps, once non-sport ridership increases, we’ll see a shift in their inventory.
I agree that it would have been nice to have featured a few of the smaller shops in the posts. Nonetheless, it’s nice to have a write up.
