There IS A Farmer’s Market In Richardson
Do you remember me wishing for more community oriented destinations in Richardson – such as a local market? As it turns out, we’ve had one all along.
Four Seasons Markets has been hosting a farmer’s market every Saturday, for quite some time. In fact, after doing a little research, I’ve discovered that they host two markets in Richardson each week.
There is one every Saturday in Canyon Creek at II Creeks, 2701 Custer Parkway. It runs from 9am to 2pm, from May to November. The other will happen every Sunday at East Side, 700 E Campbell Rd. It also runs from 9am to 2pm, but only from July to November. Click here for more infomation.
The market in Canyon Creek (which happens to be right on the bike lane) was small, but I was told that it was due to the heat. It actually picks up in the cooler months. Regardless of the size, I am excited that we have a local farmer’s market. There is so much potential to grow these in our city and create a stronger community and local culture. All we need to do is get the word out that they are here. Hopefully, the more people that know about them, the more popular they will become.
Also, don’t forget to visit these markets – especially on your bike – and buy their things.
UPDATE: The market moved to Campbell Rd and Nantucket, on the NTX Event Center parking lot. The address is: 677 W Campbell Rd, Richardson, TX 75080. There are 30 vendors every Saturday from 10am to 3pm.
