Every time I ride by the new trail construction it doesn’t look like much is happening. I decided to take a closer look and actually discovered more progress down the trail.
Here’s a pic of one of the new trails that leads to the southern of the two passages under Central Expressway. Here, you can actually see where the trail will be poured.
Further down they are getting ready to pour more of the retaining wall. As you can see, it’s quite a big task.
Going under Central Expressway, you can see a whole new concrete spillway, most likely set up to control runoff and reduce erosion – but I’m no engineer.
Under Central Expressway you can see a trail in the making.
Since I was investigating, I decided to check the progress of the trail that Bob spotted a few months back. Starting from the west side of Central, this side of the trail is mostly complete. With the exception of a few gaps, it makes it all the way to underneath the PGB Tollway. From there the brush got thick and I didn’t want to deal with snakes.
