I Bike Richardson – Bethel Strong

Posted in I Bike Richardson by dickdavid on June 22, 2012

It’s time for another installment of the I Bike Richardson series, where we put a face on Richardson cyclists. We’d like to introduce Bethel Strong. He took the time to answer a few questions about biking. Enjoy:

Bethel Strong

How long have you been riding?
I rode a long time ago. Was running in marathons and half marathons. Had to stop about a year and a half ago due to knee problems. So, I started road cycling again. Loving it more than ever.

How often do you ride?
I do not commute. I’m in Sales so I can’t. I do ride nearly every day. I ride it for errands as much as possible.

What’s your favorite route?
I ride mostly around Forney where I live, but I also like to ride around White Rock Lake.

Why do you cycle?
I ride mostly for the fun and exercise. I try to promote healthy living and exercise. I’m not a big or overweight person, but I try to get people into cycling or any kind of exercise. What ever it may be.

Live by example. I ride in many endurance rides all over. I’m riding in the 2012 Ride the Rockies in June. I ride in the Hotter ‘N Hell 100 in wichita Falls. Tour de Cure rides and te LIVESTRONG ride in Austin.

What is your perspective on riding – in general or in Richardson?
Riding has greatly effected my life. I had a recent visit to the doctor and got for the first time 100% good marks on my entire blood test along with lowering my blood pressure. I have sever asthma and I have always battled it and always will.

Richardson seems to be more bike friendly than other places around.

Tell us about your bikes.
I own 4 bikes.
I ride
Specialized Roubaix Comp, Road Bike
Specialized Allez Sport, Road Bike
Trek PDX Hybrid for fun casual riding
Wife rides a Trek FX 7.1
