Pics From This Sunday’s BFKH Ride To Dallas’ Cycle Sunday
Yesterday, I decided to join the Bike Friendly Knox-Henderson group and ride down to the first Dallas Cycle Sunday ride. After that, we got to check out the city’s latest Complete Streets initiative called Ross Avenue – Build A Better Boulevard.
The ride with the Knox-Henderson group started at the Pearl Cup and made it’s way down some nice back streets, including Swiss Avenue. It ended at the Main Street Garden Park, which was the starting point for Dallas’ first Cycle Sunday ride. The Dallas Cycle Sunday ride was nice loop around downtown, set up to celebrate the newly adapted Dallas Bike Plan.
Cycle Sunday ended at the Ross Avenue – Build A Better Boulevard event which was amazing.

The Last Of The October Rides Around DFW
There are at least 3 rides left on our October radar.
The first is happening this Tuesday, October 26 · 8:00pm – 11:30pm. FMD is hosting the Ride of the Living Dead, starting at Whole Foods @ Abrams. Looks like it will be a great time with some awesome zombies on bikes.
On Friday, October 29 · 7:00pm – 9:00pm, Fort Worth Critical Mass will be hosting Costumed Critical Mass!! It will kick off at Burnett Park in Fort Worth. Looks like it will be more costumed fun and well worth the trip to cow town.
If costumes or late night rides aren’t your thing, come on down to Knox/Henderson for Bike To Brunch hosted by Bike Friendly Knox Henderson. On Saturday, October 30 · 11:30am – 3:00pm, they will be meeting at the Pearl Cup on Henderson. Don’t forget to sign up on their FB event page.
BFKH Offers Up A Ride Into Spring
The next ride that I’m looking forward to is the first group ride for Bike Friendly Knox-Henderson. Go here for details.
Welcome Bike Friendly Knox-Henderson
We have some great news in the DFW area. Like us, another north Texas neighborhood has joined the ranks of local bicycle advocacy, which was re-vitalized by Bike Friendly Oak Cliff. Although they haven’t officially launched, we now have Bike Friendly Knox-Henderson – adding to the Bike Friendly family which includes Bike Denton, us (as well as the recently discussed Bike Friendly Lakewood).
We love seeing more advocacy groups appearing in metroplex neighborhoods. We hope the momentum keeps going and that we can all work together to make Dallas a better place for riding.
