New Duck Creek Bridge

Dallas Morning News editor, Bruce Tomaso, has reported that Richardson’s Glenville Trail is officially open. This is the trail that runs from Bowser Road, past Glenville, Mark Twain and Huffines Parks, and connects with Duck Creek Trail.

As you may already know, the trail has been open for months. However, as of the ribbon cutting and dedication yesterday, it is now official.

South Glenville Trail Almost Complete

Posted in Bike Trails and Routes, City Stuff by dickdavid on August 8, 2010

A little over a month ago, we discovered and reported about some new trail construction in east Richardson. After doing a bit more research, we discovered that it was also part of the Glenville Trail capital improvement program that Bob reported about. This phase will connect Bowser Road to Duck Creek.

I decided to take a spin on the new trail to see how close it was to being complete. With the exception of a few places, one being the connection with the Duck Creek Trail, another across from Glenville Park and the last just a small part blocked off by the construction trailer, the trail was almost complete.

Here is a rough map of the new trail (indicated in red):
