A Ride From Richardson To White Rock Lake
One of the great things about living in Richardson is that we are so close to Dallas. We get some of the great suburban amenities, like really great schools and quiet neighborhoods, but also the convenience of having such an great urban center within biking distance.
Yesterday, I decided to try out our newest connection to Dallas – the extended Cottonwood Trail. Not only does it provide safe passage from Richardson to Dallas (under some major highways), but it also merges with the White Rock Creek Trail. From there, I was able to take a nice spin down to and around White Rock Lake.
Here are some pics of my ride:
I got a little lost last weekend trying to get on the Cottonwood from the WR Creek trail, going North. For anyone doing this, remember it is the SECOND right after Royal Ln. However, if you want an interesting detour definitely take the first right and check out the Urban Reserve neighborhood!
Ah, thanks for reminding me. Although this has nothing to do with your detour, I forgot to mention that I got a little turned around because of all the construction going on at NW Highway. Fortunately for me, there were other cyclists to guide me around all that mess.
Thanks for the tip about the second right. Sorry to hear that you got lost, but I’m glad you had a nice detour.
