Share The Road Y’all
I got my new “Share The Road” specialty license plates.
From the specialty plate fee, $22 goes to the Texas Education Agency for the Share the Road Program to support activities that promote bicyclist safety, education and access through education and awareness programs, training, workshops, educational materials and media events.

Wow, nice. Did you have to sit in some government office for hours to get this, or can you order online ?
I ordered it online (see link above), but had to pick it up at the downtown Dallas office.
The office is open from 8am to 4:30, but they helped me out at 7:40 this morning. No line.
The plate is $30 extra (per year – with $22 going to the cause) and you have to sync your registration with the plates – which means you’ll need to pay a one-time, prorated amount. I paid an additional $30 for that, but my registration renewal moved from January 2012 to October 2012.
