Pics From Bike Friendly Oak Cliff’s Cyclesomatic Bike Fair & Spooky Cyclocross 2012
Yesterday, Bike Friendly Richardson, was invited to have a table at the Cyclesomatic Bike Fair – hosted by Bike Friendly Oak Cliff. It started off a bit chilly, but it ended up being a great day.
Along with many booths and a huge crowd, there was a cyclocross race. I’d never seen one in person, so it was pretty exciting to watch.
There was also a bike powered smoothie station hosted by BikeDFW as well as representatives from Metroplex BMX, Pedal Power, Bicycles, Inc and ReGeared. Good Karma Kitchen was there with some tasty food and the youngsters in the crowd were entertained by a bounce house and fantastic face painting. If that wasn’t enough, there was a BMX Stunt show.

BFR Goes To The Bike Friendly Oak Cliff, Richardson Bike Mart Cyclesomatic Bicycle Fair
A small group of us took the DART Red Line train into Dallas, to take part in the 2011 Bike Friendly Oak Cliff, Richardson Bike Mart Cyclsomatic Bicycle Fair. This was the first of it’s kind for Bike Friendly Oak Cliff and for Dallas.
There was a great collection of exhibitors, including Bike Friendly Oak Cliff, Oak Cliff Bicycle Company, Southwest Frameworks, YBS Bikes, ReGeared, DORBA, bicidichi, BikeDFW, Bike Texas, Lone Star Cyclists, The City of Dallas, Hidden Clothing, Bike Friendly Richardson and title sponsor Richardson Bike Mart. There was also bike valet, provided by a great organization called Pedal Power – as well as an awesome BMX stunt show (also sponsored by Richardson Bike Mart).
Next door was the Go Oak Cliff Blues, Bandits and BBQ event which filled the air with incredible music and fantastic smells. The weather was perfect, the people were super friendly and the strong community vibe was shared by everyone. I hope to see this event, and others like it, continue on a regular basis.

Bike Friendly Oak Cliff Brings You Cyclesomatic 2011 – This October
Bike Friendly Oak Cliff is hosting it’s third annual Cyclesomatic Event next month. They’ll be celebrating with many bike events including, Tour to the Lake Ride, Bike the Oak Cliff Home Tour, iBike Rosemont Week, Bike to City Hall, Blues Bandits & BBQ featuring a Cyclesomatic Bicycle Fair, Trinity Trails Bike and Run, Cyclecross Race, Bicycle Scavenger Hunt and Bike-in movie, Lonestar Goldsprints, Alley Cat and much, much more!

Bike Friendly Richardson will be participating in a couple of these events. We have plans to do a bike ride from Richardson to Oak Cliff and take part in the Bicycle Fair on Saturday, October 22. We may also be organizing a ride on Wednesday morning, October 12 for the Bike To City Hall event. Check back for details on those events.

Dallas Bikes To City Hall – October 15, 2010

As part of Bike Friendly Oak Cliff’s Cyclesomatic 2010, cyclists are promoting bike advocacy with another Dallas Bike To City Hall ride.
We hope to make it out to this one to support our neighbors and get a look at the Dallas Bikeway System Draft Network.

Our friends and the founders of the DFW Bike Friendly movement, Bike Friendly Oak Cliff, are having their second Cyclesomatic event. This year they’re packing all of the bike love into four days – October 14 – 17. Click over to the site to get more details.
