The Dallas Bike Ride: A Celebration of Community and Cycling

Dear Bike Friendly Richardson readers,

The Dallas Bike Ride is back, and it’s better than ever! This beloved event, which first began in 2017, has become a staple for cycling enthusiasts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. After a brief hiatus, the ride is returning this year, promising an unforgettable experience for riders of all ages and abilities.

A Brief History

The Dallas Bike Ride was founded in 2017 by American Bike Ride, an organization known for hosting iconic cycling events across the U.S., such as the DC Bike Ride and the Philly Bike Ride. The event was created to celebrate people, places, and culture while providing car-free access to iconic sites. Unfortunately, the ride was absent for a few years, but it’s now making a triumphant return, much to the delight of the local cycling community.

Event Details

Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 17, 2025! The ride will kick off at 8:00 AM CDT, with corrals opening at 6:30 AM and closing at 7:45 AM. The 20-mile route will take participants past some of Dallas’ most iconic landmarks, including Reunion Tower, the JFK Memorial, Bishop Arts District, and the Design District. The ride will culminate at City Hall with the Methodist Dallas Finish Festival, featuring live music, a beer garden, food trucks, and family-friendly fun.
